Our clinician-scientist Christina Malainou impressed the audience with her work on Tnfsf14-driven apoptosis of tissue-resident alveolar macrophages that enables the establishment of post-influenza pneumococcal pneumonia in the KIT 2023 conference. She was also awarded the 1st prize for best scientific presentation! Our clinician scientist Julian Better also presented his data on the complex role of alveolar macrophages in the context of bacterial pneumonia.
